Laughter say WHAT?!?!?!

I just want to keep my blog today short and sweet. Everyday I am given a reason to laugh. If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting my 17 yr old, you would understand.

There are couple of sayings that are recently popping up all over the place. They go a little like this..

Are your friends making you fat?
Is your spouse making you fat?
Is stress making you fat?
Is eating too much / too little making you fat?

Well how about this one for a change of pace...

Is where you work keeping you heart healthy, happy and fit?

Where I work YES! Laughter truly is the best medicine and I do a LOT of that at my job. Over nothing in particular just because we can. Sometimes also because we do something totally ridiculous to ourselves and not on purpose but it just happens. This is what I recently found..

Laughter is good for your health

  • Laughter relaxes the whole body.... A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.
  • Laughter boosts the immune system.... Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.
  • Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.
  • Laughter protects the heart.... Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.
This is January and frankly it is not the greatest weather outside. One day rain the next snow and on and on. If by chance you need other ways to help you get though the long winter months at a boring job or in a place where you can't break out in a random silly dance ( I can do that at my work.. LOL )and you are unable to get away on a warm tropical vacation ... Please take a moment and read Sandra's recent blog on beating the winter blues.

So with that said... instead of doing something that scares you everyday try doing something that will make you laugh till you pee your pants! ( Also you get a really good ab workout if it is done right )
